EFAW Emergency First Aid Annual Refresher

---

Refresher courses run over 3-4 hours every 12 months. Competency of candidates will be evaluated by continuous assessment, in line with modern day assessment practices. Candidates should have their original certificate stamped to indicate they have successfully completed refresher training.

Candidates should demonstrate their competence to:

Act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency Administer Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation promptly and effective Administer first aid safely, promptly and effectively to a patient who is unconscious Administer first aid safely, promptly and effectively to a patient who is bleeding (Internally & Externally) Administer first aid safely, promptly and effectively to a patient who showing the signs & symptoms of shock Administer first aid safely, promptly and effectively to a patient a minor injury Prevent cross infection, recording incidents and actions and the use of available equipment Be updated with any new current first aid issues
