Oxygen Therapy Training

Training in the use of medical oxygen is available through First Response.

The Oxygen Therapy Training course enables FAW or EFAW certificates holders to administer oxygen safely and confidently. First Response will also help you to establish appropriate guidelines for the use of oxygen, and ensure that trained staff are fully aware of these.

Oxygen Therapy Training for how to manage and maintain equipment, cylinders and delivery systems to national safety standards will also be provided.

Oxygen Therapy Training, CPR and First Aid Training are extremely important for ensuring that your workplace is safe, and that staff are able to deal with any CPR and first aid emergencies calmly and confidently.

Oxygen Therapy Training courses cover:

  • Care and safety of medical gases
  • Oxygen therapy equipment
  • Potential hazards
  • Identifying the clinical need of oxygen
  • Pulse Oximetry
  • Targeted oxygen therapy
  • Use of oxygen during CPR
  • Prescription only medicines Act (POM)
  • Hypoxic drive
  • General guidelines on oxygen administration

The Oxygen Therapy Training course can be taught at either our Bristol CPR training or Weston-Super-Mare training centres. If you do not have an EFAW or EFA certificate then you may want to look at our Health and Safety courses. As with all our courses, training will be provided by one of our highly qualified tutors.
