Latest additions to Medical Training pages
ATMIST and NEWS2 protools become the latest additions to the First Response Resuscitation & First Aid Training Ltd Medical Training pages.
After high interest during training sessions, First Response MD Clive Haddrell made the decision to add the ATMIST and NEWS2 protocols to the website.
The NEWS2 is based on a simple aggregate scoring system in which a score is allocated to physiological measurements, already recorded in routine practice, when patients present to, or are being monitored in hospital. Six simple physiological parameters form the basis of the scoring system.
When providing a clinical patient handover to an NHS Ambulance Crew it is advisable to apply the ATMIST approach. Many NHS ambulance services and hospitals now promote the use of ATMIST in this situation, as it facilities a rapid, accurate handover.
