"I can't think of anything extra that would improve the service for us. It suits us perfectly and is tailored to what we need. The stories and examples help bring situations to life and it gives those of us who are not clinical confidence that we can respond in an emergency situation. It also gives support to the nurses who are clinical but don’t find themselves (thankfully) often in an emergency situation".
Karen Eyers, Abbey Wood Medical Treatment Facility
"Clive Haddrell brought a BLS training to Helios Medical Centre on the 10th of December 2018 and managed to cram a both encompassing and engaging training into a 1.5h time frame, using imaginative enactments as a tool to quickly get a sense of how things would need to be handled in real life situations. All staff felt very much enlivened by his practical and humorous approach, and I would certainly fully recommend him!"
Dr Frank Mulder, Helios Medical Centre, Bristol
“As you said at our recent training session the E-Learning modules weren't easy, I just missed the pass on first go! But that was good because I then read through the booklet you gave us and realised a few things that I'd forgotten. I thought the practical training session went very well, with the emphasis on team working etc. The learning quiz backs up the theoretical stuff. See you again next year!”
Dr Stuart Anderson, Burnham Medical Centre

"Clive and the First Response team adopt a practical, informative and enjoyable style and offer a sensible and realistic approach to the practicalities and difficulties encountered in common emergency situations. This is facilitated by the team's years of experience working as paramedics, enabling them to draw on real-life examples and offer practical solutions to dealing with common scenarios encountered in resuscitation. Their approach makes the training session immensely valuable to both clinical and non-clinical staff alike, teaching practical skills to people from all backgrounds and levels of experience. I would thoroughly recommend First Response to any organisation that wants to do more than simply "tick the box" of engaging in resuscitation training but truly wants to learn, develop or update life-saving resuscitation skills."
Dr Jonathan Hayes BM MRCGP, Clinical Governance Lead GP, NHS South Gloucestershire
"Our practice had its annual Resuscitation Refresher course today from Clive and the team at First Response. As ever it was highly informative and very entertaining. There was an excellent mix of education, theory and plenty of opportunity for hands-on. We had the opportunity to hone our skills on adult and paediatric resuscitation as well as learning about choking and anaphylaxis. We also had the chance to practice mini scenarios and to use the defibrillator. I would strongly recommend his services in this infrequently encountered but vital area. A very well spent 2 hours."

"First Response have provided excellent multi-disciplinary training for our large surgery for a couple of years now. “Every GP and member of the practice team needs an annual CPR update and up until recently I have found these rather boring, long winded, confusing and not particularly useful. However since we have had our training with Clive at First Response, this has changed. Not only have these training sessions been good team building exercises, fun and useful, we now have clear guidelines and cards on what we all should be doing, we have a better equipped emergency trolley which we all know where to find and how to use and hopefully we will all be better prepared for that next emergency.”
